Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cups olive oil
  • ½ onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp chili pepper flakes (you can reduce the spiciness according to your taste)
  • 1 cup tomato (chopped small)
  • 2 cups hot water (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and black pepper (add to taste)

Instructions
 

  • Chop the garlic and onion finely.
  • Heat the oil in a medium sized pot and start sautéing the onion and garlic.
  • When the onions start to change color, add the flour and continue to saute for 30-40 seconds until the smell comes out.
  • Add the tomatoes that you peeled and chopped into small pieces.
  • Add the spices and hot water or chicken stock and mix.
  • When it starts to boil, reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Make the final touch by adding salt and pepper to your taste.
