Ingredients
  

  • 1 avocado
  • ½ lime or lemon
  • ½ onion (small)
  • 1-2 clove garlic
  • 4-5 sprigs parsley
  • 1 small pepper (preferably jalapeño)
  • 1 small tomato (seedless, optional)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Finely chop the onion, garlic, pepper and parsley.
  • Sprinkle salt on them and mix by crushing with a knife.
  • Cut the avocado in half lengthwise. Remove the pit by inserting a knife into the pit and twisting it. Remove the pit from the skin with a spoon. Mash the inside with a fork in a bowl until it becomes a puree. (It does not need to be a smooth puree. Leaving a slightly lumpy consistency will add texture to the sauce.)
  • Add the lime juice or lemon juice to the mashed avocado without waiting. This step not only adds flavor but also prevents the avocado from browning.
  • Add the vegetables to the avocado and mix.
