parmesan or aged cheddar

Instructions
Heat the butter and olive oil. Add finely chopped or crushed garlic and saute lightly.
If you are going to use mushrooms, add them now and saute over high heat for 2-3 minutes.
Add the cream and heat the mixture a little, then add the grated cheese. Stir the mixture constantly to melt the cheese.
When the consistency of the sauce becomes thick, add salt, black pepper and basil (optional) to taste.
Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Alfredo sauce reaches the desired thickness.
Serve hot.
