Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup heavy cream 200ml
  • ¾ cup parmesan or aged cheddar grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil optional
  • cup chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat the butter and olive oil. Add finely chopped or crushed garlic and saute lightly.
  • If you are going to use mushrooms, add them now and saute over high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cream and heat the mixture a little, then add the grated cheese. Stir the mixture constantly to melt the cheese.
  • When the consistency of the sauce becomes thick, add salt, black pepper and basil (optional) to taste.
  • Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Alfredo sauce reaches the desired thickness.
  • Serve hot.
