Avocados are an excellent for low-carb diets due to their nutrients and high fat content. As for why avocado is so popular in low-carb diets like keto;

  • Rich in Healthy Fats: Avocado contributes to improving heart health and reducing inflammation. It is rich in monounsaturated fats, especially oleic acid. These healthy fats are essential on the ketogenic diet. Because they provide a ready source of energy for the body when carbohydrates are restricted.

Its fiber content also slows down the digestion of carbohydrates. Thus, it helps balance blood sugar levels and prevent spikes and drops.

These nutrients play vital roles in metabolism, energy production, immune function and overall health. Maintaining adequate levels of these micronutrients is especially important when following a restrictive diet such as keto.

You can also make avocado chips by slicing avocados into thin slices and seasoning them. You can then flavor the slices with spices and herbs of your choice. Generally, salt, black pepper, garlic powder and red pepper powder are used. These seasonings are great to capture the taste of cheese chips. I chose to make the mashed version with the same spices.

After seasoning, you can easily cook the avocado chips either in the airfryer or by laying it on a baking tray using parchment paper or silpat.
